Atlanta is well known for its sports teams and while this is one of the city’s major cultural features, it is also extremely well known and popular for some of the great musical venues and artists that are located in the city. And in addition to the numerous musical artists that are born in this city the great venues and performance establishments attract famous artists as well as the major arenas that host international superstars. Music is an extremely important aspect of the daily lives of most of the citizens of Atlanta and is also one of the primary attractions for the people who visit the city and enjoy a stay in one of the great hotels in Atlanta .

A great example of this is Smith’s Olde Bar which bills itself as a neighborhood joint, though it will be hosting the likes of Jeff Daniels who will perform some original songs onstage there. The relaxed atmosphere belies the impressive line up of performers and the outstanding music that is offered. There are also open mic nights, which are popular with music lovers as well as musicians who are just beginning to get live performance experience. The venue has an intimate atmosphere but can hold an audience of up to 350 people, which is attractive to a lot of visiting bands.

The Opera Nightclub is another great example of venues in the city and represents the diversity of the club scene when compared to Smith’s. In addition to the live concerts that take place here, it is one of the city’s primary dance clubs. Celebrities are attracted to performing there as well as simply showing up to enjoy a great night out. This is one of the locations in Atlanta where you can sometimes rub shoulders on the dance floor with celebrities and vip clients. It is definitely one of the great places in Atlanta to see and be seen in, and this is exactly what many of the citizens do regularly and the tourists enjoy while they are there.

If you’re going to find yourself hungry while you are on vacation, you will also find yourself to be in a great deal of luck if you are in Singapore. The city is known for having some of the finest cuisine from around the world and also is known for its great traditional and locally based food. It has a unique local cuisine that many people are surprised to discover while they are visiting. And the amount of great restaurant options that can be found in this city really doesn’t make it easy to explore all of them. So, if you plan a trip to Singapore it is extremely recommended to try some of the traditional food. This part is actually easier than you might think. There are many street food vendors and food stalls located throughout the city and you could be almost anywhere in it when you find hunger strikes and there will be some kind of cafe, restaurant or hawker food vender either right in front of you or just around the corner.

And this brings up another great food genre and service style that many people also discover while they are visiting Singapore. Hawker food is extremely popular in the city and is also an extremely convenient way to order your food and also eat it. The meals consist of a basic noodle or rice dish and frequently contains seafood . These types of dishes are usually found near major hawker centers, which are basically large outdoor dining halls. They will typically have a tent or canvas covering and feature many large tables for general public seating. People will order their food from the hawker vendor and then find a seat at one of the tables to eat it. Newton Food Centre is one example of these and they are generally found at major transportation centers and also large shopping or commercial market complexes. Wherever you find yourself in the city, there is a restaurant or food vendor in Singapore near by.

Starting with a big McDonald’s attack, we continued our tour of Singapore. We rode the MTR subway and found our way to the Raffles City Mall. We were hoping that this place has something to do with the Raffles hotel, but apparently, there are many places with the Raffle name that have nothing to do with the hotel establishment. We read about the restaurant located at the Raffles hotel at this page: www.singaporerestaurant.com on the Internet, the restaurant is supposed to be top notch called the Long Bar.

A nice man sorted it out for us and suggested we hop back on the train. I’ve been to Singapore once before, and as we approached the MRT, things started coming back to me, started looking familiar, so we decided to take a leisure walk. We saw the remnants of the Singapore Grand Prix, that apparently ended last night. We came to the Raffles City Mall and found another restaurant that was also recommend from the webpage called Din Tai Fung, it’s a dumplings restaurant. I remember eating here and I remember just how heavenly the dumplings are, especially the steamed pork soup dumplings.

After our dumpling feast, we hit another of the recommendation from that restaurant site, the Donut Factory. This is where my glutenous side come out, they had a special on a dozen donuts because of the Grand Prix, so we bought a dozen, after we ate two donuts each, to take back to our hotel room. We had an early morning flight the next day, so we new we had to stuff all the donuts down by tonight. The woman at the counter told us that we should first eat the 4Cs donuts, because of the ingredients: coconut, chocolate, cream and corn. She told us the rest of the donuts would be fine to eat the next day. I’m glad she told us this, because when we got back to our hotel room, we ate the 4Cs, which was a good majority of the donuts. We were completely decadent. We love Singapore.

It was a quick trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and a welcome sight after being 19 hours on the move. Our first sightseeing tour was to Alcatraz Island. I won’t bore you with the details, but the place is fairly impressive, but it is overrun with over-sized tourist and over-sized seagulls feeding off the over-sized tourists scraps of junk food. All that being said, the Island is definitely worth a visit.

On our way back to the mainland, we checked out the seals who have taken up residence on pier 39, which is not far from where the ferry station is located. The seals, apparently, just turned up one day back in 1989 after an earthquake and have never left. These smelly beasts are protected by state law, before that, they would’ve been turned into minced up meat. The seals just seem to laze about all day and really sink the place up. We felt like we were visiting a smelt.

For the next couple of day, we hit the streets of San Francisco. One of the places we hit was the recently renovated Ferry Building that is now a center for excellent things. like nice food, nice chocolates, nice wines, nice almost everything. We had a great lunch at a San Francisco restaurant. With our stomach’s full and with our tipsiness, we made our way all across the city to the legion of honor. It’s a memorial built in honor of our fallen Americans from the first World War. The memorial has been turned into an art museum with a substantial collection of impressionist and post impressionist works. It also has a nice Rodin sculpture collection.

The next day was time for us to stop walking and drive off to Sonoma Valley for a day excursion of wine, food, swimming and all around fun. We were lucky enough to have already visited the Napa Valley on our last trip to San Francisco. We spent the day tasting wines and for dinner we ate at a superb Italian restaurant. It was late in the evening when we got back to San Francisco and proceeded to crash for the night.

The saddest thing about visiting San Francisco it having to leave San Francisco and all the great food, sights and people.

Ibiza offers many exceptional things for the savvy world traveler.  There is truly something for everyone here, with fantastic beaches to keep guests of all ages happy during the day, and the night is really something else.  There is, of course, a magnificent club culture here, that is always on the move, and always evolving to new dj’s bringing new beats to Ibiza.  Restaurants are also quite spectacular, and offer very unique contributions to the island.  Many of them also turn into discos later in the evening, perhaps on a much smaller scale than the full-out dance clubs, but are nonetheless a splendid way to spend an evening.  There is a wide variety of foods, too, from many different culinary traditions.  If you’re looking for the latest and the greatest in contemporary Spanish cooking, then surely there are many mouth-watering dishes to try.

The chefs here are, like the rest of the professionals on the island, spectacular, and used to creating amazing delicacies that live up to international standards of fine cuisine.  You can find something familiar for the younger guests who might have particular tastes, and you can also find amazing exotic treasures that just might change the way you think about food.  If you get a chance to sample the local flao, which some describe as a kind of cheesecake, but the differences are a bit more complex, you’ll start to get a sense of why the people who live here seem so happy.

There’s no question that there is a higher value placed on the moment to moment kinds of happiness, which some cultures would describe as fleeting.  Here, however, it all adds up to a good life which is not fleeting but deeply felt. Jump in. Flao is an exceptional dessert that is marked by the taste of anise, mint, and soft cheese.  Quark certainly works.  There is also a lot of olive oil in everything here, and this also goes for the desserts.  Fresh olive oil is one of the most fantastic things human beings have ever invented, and here it’s even better, because it is so very fresh.  This should lead you toward the good life, or at least put you in touch with some people who know the way.
