Budding Astronauts Need Maps

Kids have amazing imaginations. Many can see themselves pursuing a dozen different careers all at once. They want to grow up to a doctor who practices law and serves as a firefighter, police officer, and astronaut in their spare time while playing in a rock band and starring in movies during summer vacation. They see nothing wrong with this complex dream, since they are able to play all those roles in a single afternoon with their friends.

Parents who want to support their child’s dreams should think carefully about what toys and educational items they invest in. A budding astronaut may want rocket ships, toy planets, and every sci fiction lego set in existence. It might be better to get them a good globe so they can imagine themselves viewing the world from outer space. The advantage here is that they will pick up knowledge about geography and world history that will serve them whether they become an astronaut or move on to a different dream next month.

A Florida Wall Map is another helpful tool for children with an interest in astronomy and outer space. NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is located on Merritt Island, next to Cape Canaveral, just a short drive from Orlando. They can figure out where they will live while training for missions and which theme parks to take their kids to on vacation.
