University of Washington Seattle

Seattle is a popular place for students to decide to study. The University of Washington is located there and it is one of the respected state schools and in addition to all of its quality academic departments and programs there are solid sports teams. The school is also known for its social commitment programs and contributions to the various services to residents.

The school was founded in 1881 due to a private gift of ten acres of land, which is located in what is now downtown Seattle. It remains strong and progressive in its educational philosophy and is one of the oldest universities in the West Coast. It has led the way in academic and school recreational activities since it was established and continues to do so today.

The university features world-class libraries and some outstanding programs. Music , drama and art are some of its premiere departments and the school’s continued commitment to the arts is outstanding. In addition, UW has been groundbreaking in green universities and continues to seek sustainable living and education habits. Many of the Seattle hotels are full of proud parents who are visiting their Husky, which is the school mascot. It is also a popular place for tourists to visit and the school has a beautiful campus with many public facilities and performances.
