Vermont Mountains in the Summer
On the East Coast, Vermont is a mecca for ski lovers. Everyone wants to go to Vermont and it is pretty easy to see why. However the mountains that are slops in the winter time, also make a great place to hike in the summer time when all the snow has melted. The ski lift that were great for taking you up the mountain can be good for going in either direction, up or down, you can hike the other one. This means that if you are wanting to hike up the mountain, there will be a way to get you back down. Or you could hike your way back down as well, it is all up to you. Luckily the best hotels in Vermont are ready for you, and so are some of the mountain resorts.
Which mountain you want to get on is all up to you. There are a number of them out there and there are a number of resorts that do special events to try to draw people in.
Bromley Mountain has tasty Tuesdays where they give away free ice cream on Tuesdays in the summer time. Nice for a little moment to cool down after your hike. They also have an adventure park that you can try out. After five on Fridays they start offering discounts to those who want to head on in to get out of the heat a little.
Stow will have live music at Spruce Peak on Saturday afternoons through the summer. Starting at noon and going through four a band will come on down and play for the people on the mountain. Sometimes they have a movie night with movies such as “A River Runs Through It” playing.
Stratton’s music night will be Saturday in the evenings as you can spend your time under the stars after a long hike, and listen to the band play.
What you do when you get there is up to you, but it is a beautiful place, with plenty of things to be explored. Other than hikes, there are rivers to explore, and if you head into one of the cities, there are even a few factory tours you can take.
