Charleston, South Carolina is a beautiful southern city with great geographic features and great atmosphere and community feel. Many people are attracted to this city and enjoy their summer vacation there. And soon, the great hotels found throughout the city and the surrounding region will have another population of guests. Beginning in May of this year, the Carnival Cruise Line will be launching its new program from Charleston. This is great news for residents and regional citizens, as well as people who like to make a combined event out of cruise adventures. It is becoming popular to visit the city in which the cruise originates and spend some time there before beginning the cruise. This will be an extremely popular aspect of cruise oriented guests in Charleston.
On May 18 the official launching of the new program will take place. It begins the first year round cruise program that is being initiated by Carnival, the world’s largest cruise operator. On that day the ship Carnival Fantasy will depart from Charleston with its 2,056 passengers.
This program will initiate a new and exciting program that will attract attention not only to the cruise company but also to Charleston and will entice people to visit the city all times of the year. The city was selected due to Charleston’s position, which makes it easily accessible for millions of people in this country. It’s great location and also its already existing tourist appeal were two of the major reasons Carnival decided to base the new program in this city. Throughout the year, the cruise company will operate five, six and seven day cruises that have destinations in Key West Florida and the Bahamas . This is not the first relationship the city has had with Carnival Cruise lines. It has operated seasonally based cruises from Charleston in the past.
