Don’t Just Expect to Be Lucky: Backup Your Valuable Data With Carbonite

I’m one of the lucky ones. I haven’t suffered major data loss, and hope never to, being that I have all important data backed up on an X drive. I have been hit by aggressive viruses a couple of times, however, which froze up my computer. In those cases, I was able to simply restore my computer and start from scratch — as much of a pain in the butt that is — without losing much but time.

But there are many unlucky ones out there who’ve suffered unfortunate crashes and data loss I shudder to think on. Luckily, there’s a relatively new company out there called Carbonite (for those of you who haven’t yet heard of it) that stores data through online interface to the tune of mere pennies a day and 15 Petrabytes total company storage space.

Once Carbonite data backup is set up on your computer, it requires little ongoing work on behalf of the user. It reads and stores your data as long as you’re on the internet, and users can also log on to the Carbonite site and access their files.

Also, there are no limits on backup storage capacity. Carbonite will back up all the supported files on your internal hard drive whether you have 1GB, 10GB or more. However, users should be aware that the speed of today’s DSL cable internet services will make it very slow to back up more than, say, a few dozen GB of data.

The Carbonite client is then always looking for new data on your PC. When you add or modify files, Carbonite starts backing them up immediately. It backs up about 2GB per day over broadband. Carbonite’s backup solution works by placing colored dots on your files and folders. Different colors represent different “file states”: 1) If the file has been backed up, 2) will be backed up or 3) will not be backed up.

So, why be a victim, when you can take advantage of Carbonite’s affordable data backup services?

Las Vegas Nevada Law Firms, Las Vegas Lawyers Sought For Family and Divorce Law Consultations

Las Vegas Nevada Law Firms and Las Vegas Lawyers are available for counsel, in cases of divorce and family law.

Divorce or dissolution of marriage is the termination of a marriage, canceling the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage and dissolving the bonds of matrimony between two persons. In most countries, divorce requires the sanction of a judge or other authority in a legal process to complete a divorce. A divorce does not declare a marriage null and void, as in an annulment, but divorce cancels the marital status of the parties, allowing them to marry another. At the end of the 1960s, the U.S. divorce laws underwent major changes and the divorce rate more than doubled in all of the states. The new laws introduced unilateral divorce in most of the states, and changes in divorce settlements, such as property division and child custody assignments in every state.

Family law is an area of the law that deals with family-related issues and domestic relations including, but not limited to: the nature of marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships; issues arising during marriage, including spousal abuse, legitimacy, adoption, surrogacy, child abuse, and child abduction; the termination of the relationship and ancillary matters including divorce, annulment, property settlements, alimony, and parental responsibility orders (in the United States, child custody and visitation, child support awards).

Competent legal counsel by Las Vegas Nevada Law Firms and Las Vegas Lawyers can be obtained through specific internet searches, where you can find trusted Nevada attorneys well-versed in Family and Divorce law.

Park Hyatt Goa

Goa has plenty of resort options for tourists. There is a diverse selection of luxury accommodations suited to all lifestyles and financial budgets. One of the most popular Goa resort spa is the Park Hyatt. This beautiful resort is situated on 45 acres of a lush green beachfront garden, with a sparkling lagoon. Some of the standard accommodations included for the guests are concierge service, robes, cable TV, voicemail and a private coffee/tea maker. This is definitely one of the premiere resort hotels preferred by Westerners when they visit Goa.

One of the most popular accommodations it offers is its spa. This serene health and wellness center provides a holistic approach to healing therapies. There is a variety of room options. The Imperador Suite is the most luxurious of them all. It includes spectacular views of the Arabian Sea, an elegant dinning area, and a spacious living area. There is also a private garden area with a jetted spa tub and veranda. The Vista Suite includes perfect views of the Arabian Sea, or lagoons, depending on the suite’s location. There is a private work area, a living area, a kitchenette and private veranda. The King rooms feature fabulous views of the lagoon, a king sized bed and an open marble bath. The rooms are decorated to feature Goan art and culture and have contemporary paintings hanging on the walls. Most offer a private balcony.

The Village Square constitutes the main activity center of the resort. There are restaurants and live entertainment options. This is also where the spa is located. Some of the restaurants include the Casa Sarita, the Hyatt’s fine dining option. This romantically elegant dinning room offers some of the best cuisine in a traditionally Goan styled atmosphere. The Village Cafe offers all day dining options and is the chosen breakfast hangout for most guests. It is also a popular place to stop in for a quick gourmet snack during the afternoon. The Masala is a standard favorite for North Indian Food prepared in an open styled kitchen. There is also an Italian restaurant, Da Luigi, which specializes, quite obviously, in pastas and pizza.

Mahlathini

For luxury hotels, South Africa holds treasures for world travelers. With exquisite beaches that are some of the world’s finest (and least populated), an enticingly vibrant urban cultural scene in some of the largest of the country’s cities, and a rich and enormously complicated history, South Africa is a constant feast for the senses. These rich fabrics are the tapestries against which some of the world’s finest artists develop their craft. One of South Africa’s artistic treasures is Mahlathini.

Born Simon Nkabinde, he earned the nickname “Mahlathini” (the name means “jungle on his head”)because of his aloofness, his royal self-presentation, and his link to traditional culture, as evidenced by his amazingly deep vocals, that sound like the middle of the jungle. His vocals are what first captures the attention of the listener, and it is a style that young people have tried to imitate through attempting to make their own voices rougher and deeper. His musical tradition is called mbaqanga. Mbaqanga grew out of earlier South African musical traditions: kwela (a riff on U.S. swing jazz with pennywhistles used instead of horns), marabi (African ragtime, more or less), gospel choral music, and township sax jive. Mpaqanga really came into the limelight when the group The Makhona Tsohle Band, who played electric township pop, teamed up with Mahlathini as their frontman. To this was added the Mahotella Queens, whose distinctive bouncing dance style brought them admiration and delight from audiences all over South Africa.

They would play to packed stadiums all over the country, and brought more imitators and successors to the next wave of mpanga Afro-pop. The group took 8 years off to raise families, and re-grouped after Paul Simon’s “Graceland,” brought renewed international interest to South African music. With the world watching. Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens began another intense touring schedule, which continued for many years until Mahlathini’s death from diabetic complications at the age of 61. Despite international success and fame, Mahlathini died a pauper.

Try a visit to Miami for fun and learning

When people picture a map of Florida they think Disneyworld and retirement communities. There are things way beyond Mickey Mouse and golf in Florida. The Florida map is for more than just the very young and old; there is a booming celebrity scene in Miami Beach, Florida. The Miami metropolitan area is the seventh largest in on the US map with over five million residents.

The Florida map reveals some of the most beautiful beaches, with white sandy and the most turquoise of water. Miami Beach is a place for barely there bikinis and sunscreen.

Miami Beach, also known as South Beach, was once a wasteland and scar on the map of Florida until it was developed. Now on Miami Beach area sits nearly 200 hotels, some of them being among the most luxurious in the world, including a Ritz-Carlton.

Miami Beach now has a reputation for opulence and status. Which some are trying to change, Miami has recently also been trying to attract families to its resorts instead of just making the city a Mecca for partying. The city hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in 2004 and The Latin American MTV awards several times. Also, the hit TV show Miami Ink on TLC, featured a tattoo shop located in the city. An MTV show was also filmed there about a Miami Modeling agency.

Miami also has a great deal of tragic history the city was the place where world renowned fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered on his doorstep in 1997 after walking home from Ocean drive. Also, Miami was the site of the Elian Gonzalez fiasco in 1999.

Miami also is home to many other attractions, including the Miami Seaquarium and a Holocaust Museum.

If you are looking for a unique experience, a medley of both relaxation and history, Miami is the perfect destination in the entire Florida map or world map for that matter.

Look At Me

One of Cape Town’s premiere performing arts companies, Artscape is sponsoring an incredible new exhibit that focuses on women with disabilities. The series of photographs by Lucie Pavlovich tells the stories of the lives of 23 women coping with various disabilities in her exhibit titled Look At Me. The concept behind these photographs is based on a book that was written by Artscape director Marlene le Roux. Le Roux became inspired to write the book after attending a conference in Cardiff, Wales on the subject of disability studies. Artscape is extremely popular with residents and tourists who are in town and staying in a Cape Town luxury hotel have the opportunity to view the exhibit and tour this great venue.

The exhibit is more than a series of photographs, it’s an experience with these 23 women, who allow viewers into their world, complete with all its elements. The subjects come from all stations in life and have various issues they must live with. Some of the women were born with disabilities while others became disabled through a traumatic event. Le Roux herself was diagnosed with polio as a child and uses a cane to walk. Her book, also titled Look At Me is her journey through self exploration and coming to terms with her physical situation. The exhibit does the same for the women who were photographed.

Both the book’s and the exhibit’s intention is to make persons with disabilities seen by the rest of the population. It’s very common for a disabled person to feel invisible to the rest of the world. Their stories and lives allow viewers to realize that they deal with the same situations and life circumstances as everyone else. These woman are sensual, creative and productive, characteristics that non-disabled people often overlook. Le Roux realized that it would take a person living with a disability to create the change in society that she was seeking.

BMW Cloth Car?

BMW unveiled its latest design philosophy last year — via a radical concept car — that will sure to raise some eyebrows in the automotive industry. It’s called the Light Visionary Model.

There are four main pieces of skin that make up the Visionary’s body: The largest component starts at the front of the car and extends all the way to the base of the windscreen, then down and across the two doors, ending at the rear edge. The next two fabric-like skins begin at the front lower rocker panels, then run across the rear wheel and tire package arches to the back. The last piece of skin makes up the rear deck. The roadster’s scissor-type doors open with its outer skin wrinkled in a very clearly defined pattern, but they are stretched back into a silky-smooth surface when the doors close.

The fabric that covers the Visionary’s body is constructed from a waterproof and temperature-resistant mesh netting on the outer layer, supported by a flexible metal-wire structure underneath to maintain the skin’s tension and smoothness. Around a few areas where curvatures of the skin are called for, carbon struts are added to allow for higher flexibility while keeping the rounded contours.

The Light Visionary Model is striking not only because of its fabric outer skin, but also its utility in form following function. Because of the flexible skin, the headlights can be hidden or exposed when necessary. The side markers to signal lane changes are not visible on the outside until they are turned on during use — their light shines though the translucent (but not transparent) cover. Airflow around the car can be managed actively as the skin can be closed, opened or stretched based on need; the rocker-panel shape at the front and around the auto tires can be adjusted for better aerodynamics. And because the rear deck is covered by one single piece of fabric, the spoiler can be completely hidden when it is not in use.

Chris Bangle, Head of BMW Group Design, says, “Personal customer requirements will broaden the context of our products and change the core values that define our industry along the way.” That’s why BMW is focused on breaking new ground and finding innovative design solutions.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Many overweight people are turning to gastric sleeve surgery to help life-threatening weight. With medical costs soaring higher than ever, seeking treatment outside the country offers a solution whereby patients can pay lower fees while receiving excellent care.

Gastric sleeve costs in Mexico are radically lower than in the United States, often offering savings of more than 50%. Mexican physicians are highly trained, often with post graduate work done in the United States. In this regard they not only excel in cutting-edge techniques, but also are able to communicate in fluent English to better serve their patients. Additionally the patient attention to personalized care is a trademark in Mexican hospitals.

An added bonus achieved by saving money on gastric sleeve or any other type of necessary surgery, is that with the money saved on medical costs, patients are able to explore the country once their post recovery period is over. Affordable surgery and then a vacation! No wonder that medical tourism is on the rise.
